Effective 18 October 2019, Reto Toscan is leaving elipsLife. He is succeeded by Christoph Gaus as CEO elipsLife.
Reto Toscan joined elipsLife as CEO in 2011 and has been instrumental in the company's rapid growth since then. He started with seven employees and today elipsLife is active in seven markets, with close to 300 employees and USD 500 million of premium in the employee benefits space.
With Christoph Gaus, we have a strong internal successor to build on elipsLife's commercial success and take it to the next level. Christoph joined elipsLife as CEO Europe in June 2018 and has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance sector. Prior to joining elipsLife, he held leadership roles at Zurich Insurance Group and Swiss Mobiliar Insurance Company.
To support the leadership transition, Julien Descombes is appointed interim Deputy CEO elipsLife. Julien has 25 years of experience in the life and health business and continues to serve in his position as Chief Underwriting Officer at Swiss Re Life Capital.
